These positive interactions will sustain healthy emotional growth which affects the child in all areas of their development.

As a parent, grandparent, and preschool director I have seen that more time spent with the same caregiver actually enhances a child’s secure attachments, especially if the child isn’t experiencing strong bonds within the home. Create memories that you can share with your child that will be cherished over their lifetime .

Have Daily Uninterrupted Interaction - Designate time (15 minutes or longer) for your eyes and ears to be completely focused on your child each day. Don’t use technology, videos, or cell phones to occupy the time. See and hear your child’s need for a hug, story, song, or just simple playtime for the two of you. Even if things get busy, just focus on spending at least 15 minutes together...preferably more!
